historical cities by UNESCO,
hosted with success
the IFBB Belt & Road. Its
authorities played a key role
in the great success of this
inaugural edition.

FEW COUNTRIES can unite tradition with modernity like
China, and this also summarizes this 1st edition of the
IFBB Belt & Road Bodybuilding Championship. The event
is inspired by the “Silk Road”, a trade route travelled by
merchants more than 2,000 years ago, which had its
origin in the imperial city of Xi’an and connected Asia,
Africa and Europe. Promoted by the Government of
China and seconded by its National Federation (CBBA)
and by the IFBB, the event impressed the more than 150
foreign participating athletes, as well as 55 national
delegates from the 5 continents, present in Xi’an.
With a total of $ 80,000 distributed in prizes, in
addition to the accommodation and stay of all
participants, the figures were not the most important,
but rather the attention to every detail by the organisers.
