The Bodybuilding athletes were the
clear winners in terms of quality and
number in this event. The 65-kilogram
Iraqi Zuhair Kadhim Azdoz Almahmodi
showed a well-worked body and, despite
being a master athlete, also showed great
energy in his pose. At 70 kilos, the Syrian
Muhammad Bashir Feres made it clear
that today was not the day to beat him at
this weight. In 75 kilos, with twelve
athletes, we had a fight for gold with three
Syrian athletes very close to each other,
but finally it was Ibrahim Ismail who took
home number one. In the 80 kilos, Othman
Abdulrahman Hejjo from Syria gave
absolutely no option to his competitors
due to his superior physique: good
structure, size and definition, the key
elements to this sport. At 85 kilos, Ahmed
Ali Al-Zurfi from Iraq won with a good
physique and body structure. The 90 kilos
were really difficult to win, and Iraq’s
athlete Alaa Al Naeb did it because he
really was the best. At 95 kilos it was the
Syrian Jamil Assal who was the
undisputed champion. In up to 100 kilos
also from Syria, Osma Ahmad Alosman put
the gold out of reach of the others. At
more than 100 kilos and with almost 110,
the also Syrian Jafar Zahraa set the law of
size to win this class and also the Overall,
although only by one point above the 80
kilo champion Othamn Abdulrahman Hejjo.
