IFBB AND THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SPORT FOR DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE

Today, April 6th, the IFBB is celebrating a very important day, the day of Sport for Development and Peace.

All our athletes and federations are publishing pictures in the social media with the white card, to support this movement.

The General Assembly of the United Nations decided to proclaim on 6 April as “International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.” This date commemorates the inauguration, in 1896, of the first Olympic games of the modern era, in Athens.

The sport has a universal language that can be a powerful device to improve peace, tolerance, and understanding by bringing people together across boundaries, cultures, and religions. Its elemental values such as teamwork, fairness, discipline, and respect.
