Is it with deep sadness that we must report the passing away of the international athlete and South African Bodybuilding champion and legend, Chris Pillay; on 23rd January due to Covid-19, at the age of 50 y.o.
Resident in Durban, Chris was a reference for South Africa in the sport of Bodybuilding, beside a respected coach, teaching hundreds of athletes from his own gym “Body Guru”.
Much loved for his humble character, Chris´s accolades in his career include:
20x Provincial & National Bodybuilding champion
5x Mr. Natal Overall champion
3x Mr. South Africa Overall champion
12x Represented South Africa, at IFBB World Championships
With his wide international experience, he also was a part of the IFBB South African team, helping athletes locally and traveling abroad, as part of the South African Federation (BBSA) chaired by Mr. Wayne Price, who was shocked by the sad news.
The IFBB joins his wife, Anessa and daughters Shyla & Minal; beside family and friends in their sorrow and prayers. Rest in peace.
