The athlete José Geovanny Garcia Rodriguez, an excellent international champion, pride of the Honduran sport, with a brilliant career in Olympic trials (Central American Champion, Silver medalist at the 2017 Central American Games in Managua, and great representative of Honduras in the PanAmerican Games in Lima 2019), was assaulted and murdered this past weekend when he was doing his job.
Jose Geovanny was a great athlete, an excellent person, plenty of solidarity, always ready to help everyone, and a family man.
His loss, especially in such tragic and brutal circumstances, has deeply affected the Bodybuilding and Fitness community in Central America and the whole IFBB, with great sorrow.
The International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness join his family and friends in their pain and prayers.
His memory will remain forever with us.
