What does an athlete feel
when he reaches the podium,
hearing the notes of his
country’s anthem and seeing
his flag being hoisted?
Surely that moment
symbolises success,
recognition and
celebration of the
achievement of your
sporting goal. A
storm of thoughts
that will pass through your mind
full of memories of effort, discipline,
work, and so much preparation in
general to reach the goal you had
set for yourself, and which you have
finally achieved.
The award ceremonies not only
mark the end of the competition,
but also highlight the effort,
dedication and talent of the athletes,
and will be a permanent memory in
the athlete’s life.
The definition of Podium or
Podium in the sporting field is the
structure set up to praise a person
for winning an important sporting
competition.
